Our Mission

The Early Pregnancy Loss Coalition is a representative peak body, founded in 2023 by author and journalist Isabelle Oderberg (Hard to Bear), Miscarriage Australia co-founder Dr Jade Bilardi (Monash University) and Associate Professor Melanie Keep (University of Sydney). 

The coalition comprises organisational members from all areas of the miscarriage space.

The EPLC is governed by an independent board of directors and advised by a cohort of expert policy advisors.

The coalition’s aim is to improve education, health and service-based care for people who have experienced early pregnancy loss and their networks; to promote strategies for supportive communication about early pregnancy loss that do not compound trauma; and to ensure that decisions about early pregnancy loss support are data and research driven.

We further seek to secure sector-wide funding for early pregnancy loss education, research and services providing physical and psychosocial care for parents.

The EPLC is a registered charity with donations over $2 tax deductible.
