Our Structure
The Early Pregnancy Loss Coalition is structured to ensure representation from across all sectors and organisations with an interest in miscarriage care including pregnancy loss support organisations, medical professionals, researchers and academics, allied health professionals, mental health workers, economists, health policy experts and those with lived experience. The Coalition has a four tier membership structure:
Board of Directors
This team is made up of volunteers who serve both executive and non-executive functions. We draft policy documents, make submissions, commission research, work with government and create engagement opportunities in collaboration with Organisational Members and the Advisory Policy Group.
Members
This is our core decision-making base, consisting of individuals representing organisations from across all sectors with an interest in miscarriage care.
Key tasks: Guide and vote on policy positions, core goals and submissions.
Time commitment: Approximately 1.5 hours per month
Meetings: As required. Not more than bi-monthly.
Policy Advisory Group
Subject matter experts who give advice and inform our policies, submissions and platforms. This group consists of people with lived experience, medical professionals, researchers and academics, allied health professionals, mental health workers, economists and health policy experts.
Key tasks: Providing expert opinion in their respective field to guide policy positions and submissions and review documents for content accuracy.
Time commitment: Approximately 1 hour per month
Meetings: As required. Likely quarterly but no more than bi-monthly.
